Antonio Conte still in ‘evaluation’ for Tottenham squad ahead of January window

The January transfer window is in a few weeks. For Tottenham Hotspur fans, this is an opportunity for the north London-based club to improve their squad under the guidance of new manager Antonio Conte.

Conte is a manager who demands that the clubs he works for make a financial commitment; he did it at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan, which is why some believe Tottenham could splurge.

However, when asked about the transfer window, the Italian tactician said he was staying in evaluation mode rather than thinking about which players he wanted to bring in in January.

“Honestly, when I decided to become manager of Tottenham, I did not speak about this aspect,” said Conte at a press conference, where Mirror resumed his words. “When you take a job, you have to do your assessments, and you have to feel how you feel.”

“And honestly, I felt Tottenham were the right club to work in and bring my ideas and my football philosophy to. For this reason, I accepted the job. If I’m here it’s because I want to build something important with the club.

Tottenham have been linked with various players; Meanwhile, the Spurs squad players have also seen their names in possible deals leading to a departure. Still, going back to Conte’s comments, it seems he wants to temper expectations.

Maybe this Italian tactician would like to have a more in-depth look at some players and plan everything over the summer to have more time to execute trades.
