Battlefield 2042 has nearly 30,000 negative reviews on Steam
Ouch. Battlefield 2042, officially released just two days ago, is now one of the lowest rated games on Steam with over 29,000 negative reviews. Currently, it is the eighth lowest rated game on Steam.
As spotted by Forbes Going through the Steam250 websitee, the game has now entered the top 10 lowest rated games on the Steam roster, currently number eight. And as more and more players rate the game negatively, it will likely increase in this list. It’s still not so hated like the disaster simulation video game known as eFootball 2022, corn it’s a low bar to erase.
Battlefield 2042 had a rough launch, with players complain about broken vehicles, bad hitboxes, poor PC performance, bullet recording and accuracy issues, lack of features, etc. While the game received a day one patch, BF 2042 is still in very poor condition. And as a result, on Steam the game is rated very, very badly by thousands of gamers.
Of the nearly 40,000 reviews on Steam, BF 2042 has only about 9,700 positive reviews. The other 29,000 reviews are negative, with many complaining about a lack of weapons, features and poor PC performance.
“When BF3 came out, I was like, imagine what Battlefield will be like ten years from now. I wasn’t expecting…,” said a popular Steam reviewer.
Players have spent the past few days compiling a list of everything that’s missing or broken BF 2042 and it’s much longer than I expected. Some notable omissions included limited traversal options, no standard server browser, removal of the class-based system, no in-game profile or stats page, no spectator mode, and a lack of destruction compared to previous games.
Although I expect EA and Dice to work to improve Battlefield 2042 across all platforms, I have a distinct feeling that this game shouldn’t have been released this year. Maybe in a few months, after a few big updates, BF 2042 will improve its Steam reviews. But for now, it’s one of the lowest rated games on the platform.
