CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2022-2023

CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2022-2023: The Central Board for Secondary Education has revised the class 10 assessment policy for the new academic session 2022-2023. The board abandoned the quarterly assessment system that was adopted in the 2021-22 session. From now on, there will be a jury examination organized at the end of the academic year. In addition, emphasis will be placed on moving from rote learning to competency-based learning. Given the changed assessment policy, more competency-based questions or questions assessing the application of concepts in real/unfamiliar situations will be part of the questionnaire for future sessions.

CBSE Class 10 New Assessment Policy 2022-23: Key points to consider include:

End of year exam / board exam (theory)

In accordance with the modified assessment system, the annual board examination will take place for class 10 at the end of the 2022-23 academic session. The exam would be entirely based on the CBSE 2022-23 syllabus and questions will be asked from the full syllabus posted on the board’s website. The highlight will be that the document will contain more competency-based questions. In line with the circular issued by the council, this modified exam model will equip learners with the key skills to proactively meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Composition of the jury examination questionnaire

Under the revised assessment policy for CBSE Class 10, the examination pattern for annual board examinations will be different from previous years which will test students more on the basis of their skills. The typology of questions in the CBSE Board Class 10 Exam 2023 question papers will conform to the following pattern:

20% objective-type questions
