DCEU premieres get better reviews but fail to boost their box office -. – CVBJ
The DC Extended Universe has struggled to find a special place in the hearts of the public and is not taking care of them yet. New information reveals that while they have improved in reviews and ratings, the DCEU movies still fail to be as good at the box office as Warner would like. Despite efforts, this series still falls short of ideal earnings, as even recent releases have not beaten analysts’ forecasts. In the following paragraphs we discuss all the details.

Movies like Man of Steel – 55%, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice – 27%, The Suicide Squad – 91% and Justice League – 41% made notable box office revenues, but ratings on sites like Rotten Tomatoes remain disastrous; although Aquaman – 73% and Wonder Woman –
92% turned out to be different, things didn’t get much better with Wonder Woman 1984. They’ve been tough years for DC Extended Universe but the horizon doesn’t look very bright, not with recent events.
At the end of 2020, we had the premiere of Wonder Woman 1984, as this 2021 came The Suicide Squad – 91%, DCEU movies licensed by Warner Bros. Both got simultaneous theatrical and streaming releases, both managed to get fan affection and good press commentary (more or less), however, their performance did not live up to the expectations. I was hoping. Wonder Woman 1984 – 76% were harassed for being the first to make a difference after the pandemic, but things didn’t go well; Secondly, Suicide squad it got some great reviews, but its raw didn’t live up to expectations either.

Wonder woman 1984 racked up $ 166 million at the box office, while The Suicide Squad – 91% US $ 144 million (and is still on the billboard); the other failure that had a theatrical release in 2020 was Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of a Harley Quinn – 75%, with only 201 million US dollars (and without a pandemic). Although Warner has improved in the development of her productions, she still hasn’t managed to become a money magnet at the Marvel Studios level. One point against the study is the presence of the global health crisis, which set in March 2020 and has not let the Hollywood industry breathe since then; the DCEU looks dark now and in the future, but we’ll have to wait until time passes to look at tomorrow’s reality.
In the meantime, we can wait for the next DCEU releases, one of them is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, a sequel to Aquaman that he intends to cross the billion dollar mark again. The King of the Sea movie was a hit at the end of 2018 and the sequel will arrive in late 2022, a time when higher revenue is expected for all of Hollywood. Jason Momoa will be returning as Arthur Curry for a new underwater adventure and expectations are high (although not so much with Amber Heard in attendance as Princess Mera after their 2020 scandals), will it become- it a success?
Another on the way is Shazam! Fury of the gods. This sequel will again be directed by David F. Sandberg, who in 2019 was very proud of the success of his film. Before the premiere, many had little faith in its triumph, because according to the trailers, it looked like a very different movie than what we typically see in the DC Extended Universe. The fury of the gods has a release slated for June 2, 2023. Will we see a better future for the DCEU?
