Norwood Fire Department Shares Information About 2022 Municipal Firefighter Exam

NORWOOD – Chief David Hayes is encouraging those interested in pursuing a career with the Norwood Fire Department to apply to take the 2022 municipal firefighter written exam, which has been announced for October.

The exam aims to establish an eligible roster from which to fill vacancies for firefighters in cities and towns in the Massachusetts Civil Service.

The exam is due to start on October 24, with an application deadline of August 30. Late fees will be charged to those who apply after the August 30 deadline.

To be eligible to take the exam, candidates must be at least 19 years old by October 24, 2022.

Written exams will be held at various sites across the state and the exam fee is $75. Following the written test, candidates will receive a notice to attend a beginner level physical fitness test.
