More than 20 lakh candidates will appear for the UP Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) on August 20, after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s approval on Saturday.

According to reports, up to 20 73 540 candidates will sit for the exam to be held in each of the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. While discussing the exam, the Chief Minister urged officials to keep the exam sacred so that candidates do not resort to unfair means.

The chief minister ordered not to hold the exam in centers with shady backgrounds.

The registration process for the preliminary eligibility test, PET, began on May 25, 2021. The deadline to apply for the exam was June 21, 2021.

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered to start the recruitment process for 74,000 vacant positions under UPSSSC, UP Higher Education Services Commission and Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board during a meeting with the chairmen of these commissions.

Yogi asked the officials to conduct these competitions in the most transparent manner at the earliest. He suggested that large exams could be organized at the divisional level while the smaller ones could be organized at the district level.
